The Wait
Original Installation

A festival in Sutton QC
Every year, Moment Factory throws a huge camping trip for employees, families, and friends, on a property owned by one of the co-founders, in the beautiful Eastern Townships. This enchanted party in the woods also serves as an opportunity for Research & Creation, where we explore various technologies, multimedia features, or interactive installations.
Inspiration
This year’s MF Camping backstory foreshadowed the arrival of friendly aliens, expected to make their appearance on the night of all our festivities. So, I wanted to create an installation that conveyed the sense of belief, obsessive observation, and interminable waiting of those who search the skies for life. This hide-out in the woods is mean to evoke the story of a character, with personal touches that invite people to make their own narrative deductions.

Video Content
By pure coincidence, some friends had sourced a pile of vintage televisions, hooked them into a hard drive, and created awesome vintage space content complete with soundscape. It was extremely appealing, and particularly helped to catch the eye of campers during the “procession” moment of the festivities. (Thanks to Dominique Charbonneau & Kaiman Walkér!)
