Winter’s Dream

Writer & Creative Lead

This experience invites visitors to step into a rich storyworld inspired by the strange magic of winter, and the contrasts between light and dark, the cold of the snow and the warmth of the hearth. I wrote an original narrative, and worked closely with a team of incredible artists and technical specialists to bring several multimedia installations to life. Each multimedia installation plays on a loop of five minutes, and features an original composition.

This experience is presented by the Warren County Chamber of Commerce, and lives at the Fort William Henry Historical Fortress in the beautiful Village of Lake George.

“While the world sleeps, the shadows of your imagination lead you into fantastical dreamscapes”

Highlights

This project showed me that I have a secret wish to be a set designer. I am not, but the next best thing is working closely with an amazing artist who is. This yarn piece (created by scenographer Sarah Lachance) was inspired by a line from the concept development phase: “the dreams of winter are woven together.” It previews a later interactive feature that invites visitors help to “knit up” a Cabin of Dreams, while watching whimsical dreams of winter come to life in the windows. It lives as part of a narrative-driven installation that evokes a scene in a snowy cabin, with a sound design piece that tells a story of winter.

“And shining over a magical cabin, the full moon started to sing.”

Writing

The experience features a voiceover piece that invites visitors into the experience, as well as several panels that provides a simple narrative to accompany the multimedia loop.
